The HIV Policy Research Centers, a project of the California HIV/AIDS Research Program (CHRP) with funding from the Office of the President of the University of California, convened key stakeholders from across California to identify best practices for transgender HIV prevention and care that specifically address the social determinants of health. Topics covered include: the benefit of utilizing an Intersectionality Approach in our work – or one that acknowledges the existence of multiple intersecting identities among trans individuals; an overview of gender identity and the law; designing effective strategies that best address social determinants of health; and identifying barriers and facilitators with respect to their uptake.
